Arjun Batra

Managing Director - Consultancy

Arjun Batra is a shareholder and Managing Director of Drewry Shipping Consultants, with overall responsibility for Consultancy operations within the Drewry group of companies. Arjun has been instrumental in setting up Drewry’s international offices in India and Singapore. His previous experience includes finance director at Stelmar Tankers, and senior positions with Easyjet and Troodos Shipping. He holds a MSC in Shipping from the Cass Business School and he is a Master Mariner.

Nigel Gardiner

Managing Director – Research and Publishing

Nigel Gardiner is a shareholder and Managing Director of Drewry Shipping Consultants with overall responsibility for Publishing operations within the Drewry group companies. Prior to joining Drewry, Nigel was employed by the engineering group Hawker Siddely and by two research organisations Business Decisions and Industrial Market Research. He holds a BA in Economics and History.

Tim Power

Director – Head of Consulting

Tim Power is the operational Head of Consultancy within Drewry and a director of Drewry Shipping Consultants. Tim joined Drewry in 2004 having formerly been a director and general manager with P&O logistics, vice president of International Asset Systems and director of Power Projects. He has considerable experience – at both a strategic and operational level - helping clients increase performance in business strategy, supply chain engineering, e-business and container logistics. Tim holds a MBA from Warwick Business School and an MA in biochemistry.

Philip Damas

Director

Philip Damas heads up Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the logistics arm of the Drewry Group. He is also a Director of Drewry Shipping Consultants and of Drewry’s Liner Shipping practice. Having spent a career in the international container sector, he now advises clients on chain strategy and optimisation, logistics property investments/due diligence, carrier contracts and freight rates and more. Philip holds an MBA from the University of Bradford Management Centre and a B.Sc. and M.Sc. Finance from the University of Strasbourg.

Shailesh Garg

Director

Shailesh began working in the shipping sector in 1998, joining a maritime consultancy firm based in Mumbai. He joined Drewry as a consultant in March 2003 as part of the consultancy team based in Drewry’s India office. Shailesh has broad experience in the Indian maritime industry particularly in preparing traffic studies, feasibility reports and undertaking market surveys. With Drewry, he has worked on a diverse range of assignments for port authorities, Indian and international financial institutions and international port operators. Shailesh has an M.Com. (Marketing) degree from Banaras Hindu University and Post Graduate Diploma in Foreign Trade from the University of Pune. Shailesh manages the Drewry operation in India.
