Neil is the operational head of container research, the largest single sector across Drewry’s portfolio of services. He has 28 years strategic and operational experience in container shipping.
Neil joined Drewry in 2006 after 12 years working in several commercial roles within Safmarine and six years as Asian editor with the respected Containerisation International magazine. After two years with J E Hyde Shipbrokers, he worked as West African trade co-ordinator, crosstrades manager and UK commercial import manager with Safmarine looking after the requirements of major coffee, tea and cocoa traders. He managed the Asian market at Containerisation International, travelling extensively across the region to meet with many industry stakeholders.
Since joining Drewry as editor of the company’s flagship Container Forecaster quarterly report, Neil is now responsible for all container related data and research across the company. He has co-written several major reports for Drewry on China, the intra-Asian market, freight rate dynamics and forecasting and ship supply. He has spoken at many conferences and seminars on container shipping in Asia, Europe and the US.
Neil holds a degree in Geography and History from Bath University.
