Drewry Maritime Equity Indices - 02 June 2026

For the week ending 29 May 2026, Drewry Equity Indices delivered mixed returns. Broader market was largely up with S&P 500 and Russell 2000 rising 1.4% and 1.7%, respectively. Infrastructure-related indices showed a mixed trend, while bulk shipping indices were on a downward trend.
 
The Drewry Logistics Equity Index increased 4.1% WoW, due to early peak season demand. Whereas, Drewry Port Equity Index and Drewry Container Equity Index declined 4.3% and 0.9%, respectively. Within bulk shipping, the Drewry LPG Equity Index declined 10.3%, due to downward correction in spot rates. This was followed by the Drewry Product and Crude Tanker Equity Index, which moved down 10.2% and 7.1%, respectively due to fall in spot rates. Whereas, Drewry LNG and Dry Bulk Shipping Equity Index declined slightly by 2.6% and 1.4%, respectively.
 
On a YTD basis, infra-focused indices have delivered positive returns (Ports +11.0%, Logistics +5.7%, Container +2.7%). Within bulk shipping, the Drewry Crude Tanker Equity Index is the top performer, up 52.7%, outperforming other segments (LPG: +44.2%, Product: +41.0%,  Dry Bulk: +31.8%, LNG: +10.7%).
