Drewry Maritime Equity Indices - 26 May 2026

For the week ending 22 May 2026, Drewry Equity Indices posted mixed returns (vs. the S&P 500 up 0.9% and Russell 2000 up 2.7%). Infrastructure-related indices were on an uptrend, while bulk shipping indices showed mixed performance.

The Drewry Container Equity Index posted the highest increase of 2.6% WoW, driven by a sharp rise in Taiwanese container stocks. This was followed by the Drewry Logistics Equity Index, which was up 1.7% WoW as stock prices recovered after two consecutive weeks of decline, driven by improving sea freight rates. Within bulk shipping, the Drewry LPG Shipping Equity Index rose 5.0%, supported by a rise in Dorian LPG’s share price following the release of its robust quarterly results. In contrast, the Drewry LNG Shipping and Product Tanker Equity index declined 3.7% and 2.9%, respectively.

On a YTD basis, infra-focused indices have delivered positive returns (Ports +16.0%, Logistics +1.5%, Container +2.6%). Within bulk shipping, the Drewry Crude Tanker Equity Index is the top performer, up 64.3%, outperforming other segments (LPG: +60.8%, Product: +57.0%, Dry Bulk: +33.6%, LNG: +13.6%).
