Airfreight Price Index - June 2026
Our Airfreight Price Index is a weighted average of all-in airfreight "buy rates" paid by forwarders to airlines for standard service airport-to-airport airfreight services on 44 major East-West routes for cargoes above 1,000 kg. This Index is sourced from our new Airfreight Insight subscription service.

30 Jun 2026: A 15% month-on-month increase in eastbound transpacific rates drove the Drewry Airfreight Price Index for June to $4.27, 6% higher than in May. Asia to Europe was a contributing factor, showing a 3% increase over May pricing. The transatlantic sector was largely unchanged, showing flat growth eastbound and a 1% decline in the opposite direction, same as transpacific westbound pricing. Rates from Europe to Asia retreated 5%. A settlement of the Iran conflict would send oil prices down further, although it will take time to restore shuttered or damaged production capacity. Still, demand should keep pricing elevated. It outpaces capacity, which continues to face challenges, despite some improvements in aircraft production.
