Benchmarking of chemical freight expenses

Client: Middle East-based methanol producer

The producer contacted Drewry to carry out a freight rate benchmarking exercise ex-Middle East Gulf, examine their existing freight arrangements and provide freight optimisation strategy that fits their shipping requirements. Specifically, Drewry recommended the optimal size of vessel, optimal routes (discharge port sequencing) and the optimal ratio of time charter versus spot charter.
