Technical due diligence of chemical tankers

Client: Middle East-based methanol producer

A private equity firm was planning to take an equity stake in a chemical tanker owning company. Drewry was tasked with ensuring the vessels were fit for purpose and seaworthy. Drewry conducted this exercise by reviewing documents/certificates for compliance with IMO and other regulatory requirement. Drewry also conducted physical inspection of vessels in order to assess the market value of the vessels.
