Ferenc is Head of Ports and Specialised Shipping Research within Drewry. He oversees research and related business development in Drewry’s Niche maritime research team, covering the areas of ports and terminals, shipping containers, breakbulk and reefer shipping, manning and ship operating costs.
Profile
Ferenc’s career in maritime shipping market research and consulting began at Maritime Strategies International’s London office in 2015, where he oversaw the development of various market forecasting models and sector reports. He worked as a consultant on projects in offshore wind, oil & gas and other, niche shipping sectors.
On joining Drewry, he took responsibility for the development of research products in ports and specialised shipping and has been head of Drewry’s Niche Maritime Research team since 2024.
Ferenc spent his PhD and post-doc years developing statistical and mechanistic models for forecasting natural events linked to climate change at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) and the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).
