Access to the new Containers sector is automatically granted to all current Container Forecaster subscribers, representing a significant enhancement to this ‘flagship’ research service, which until now has been delivered in PDF and MS Excel format.

The service provides shipping lines, ports, terminal operators, logistics providers and financiers with rapid, tailored insight to support decision-making in an increasingly volatile business environment.

While Drewry’s Container Forecaster report delivers comprehensive analysis of capacity, freight rates, trade flows, regulation and fleet developments, Containers OnDemand enables clients to build their own custom data visualisations and pinpoint specific data sets when market conditions change.

“Container shipping is being reshaped by geopolitical disruption, regulatory pressure, and accelerating fleet and network adjustments,” said Simon Heaney, Senior Manager, Container Research at Drewry. “Our new OnDemand service allows clients to go beyond static reports and engage directly with our analysts for timely, market-specific intelligence.”

Through Containers OnDemand, clients can:

  • View and request data linked to specific trades, carriers or regions
  • Deepen or clarify insights from existing container shipping reports
  • Access rapid assessments of market disruptions, rate volatility or regulatory changes
  • Validate commercial and strategic assumptions with sector specialists

The service is designed to integrate seamlessly with Drewry’s existing container shipping intelligence, enabling clients to respond faster to market movements while retaining the depth and rigour of formal research.

“As the container shipping market becomes more complex and less predictable, clients need intelligence that is both authoritative and responsive,” added Heaney. “By combining our core reports with on-demand access to our expertise, we are offering a more flexible and decision-focused intelligence model.”
