Ferenc is Head of Ports and Specialised Shipping Research within Drewry. He has more than 13 years’ experience in academic research and shipping. One of his main interests is numerical modelling concepts.

Profile

After graduating as a forest engineer from university, Ferenc spent his PhD and post-doc years developing statistical and mechanistic models for forecasting rare events linked to climate change.

In his first shipping research role at Maritime Strategies International, he oversaw the development of models and reports and worked in various advisory projects mainly in the offshore wind and oil & gas sectors.

On joining Drewry, he took responsibility for the development of specialised shipping research products, and currently oversees research in the areas of ports & terminals, shipping containers, breakbulk and reefer shipping, manning and ship operating costs.
